The drents heather sheep is a rare and indigenous breed. It is the oldest sheep breed of the main continent of Europe.  It lives in these areas for thousands and thousands of years.

This herd is part of the pedigree breeders association and is therefore of great importance for the conservation of this orginal specie and the cultural heritage.
